Gini Rollins began working in metal and making jewelry in 1994, after spending 25 years as a fiber artist.  As a result of her work with fiber media, she finds textures particularly intriguing and incorporates them into her current work with metal. Gini’s work reflects her philosophy of life.  Life should be simple in form but very rich in texture. She prefers to work with simple architectural forms and surface textures.  Some work uses colored stones while other work relies on the beauty and simplicity of the silver and gold metal itself.  The contrast of smooth metal and the texture of non-precious materials such as river rock or slate are also of interest. The artist continues to take classes and workshops to improve her knowledge and skills.  “Learning something new is the most interesting part of life – it keeps life exciting.  I’m so fortunate to be able to do what I love most – making jewelry.  Life doesn’t get much better than this!”
